Males Responsible for the World's Problems!
THE ORIGINS OF HUMAN VIOLENCE – Male Dominance, Ignorance, Religions & Willful Stupidity, by Boyé Lafayette De Mente. ISBN: 978-1452858463. Quality trade paperback. 132 pages. $12.95. Available from Amazon.com and other online dealers.
It goes without saying that male humans are among nature’s most violent life forms, and all attempts by religions and laws to curb this violent nature have failed.
Author Boyé Lafayette De Mente, known for his books on the business practices and cultures of China, Japan, Korea and Mexico, explains this human failure in a new book entitled THE ORIGINS OF HUMAN VIOLENCE! – Male Dominance, Ignorance & Willful Stupidity!
In a second subtitle the author lists “Abuse of Human Sexuality, Tribalism, Territorialism, Race, Color, Religions and Self-Interest” as the seven root causes of human violence.
De Mente places the bulk of the blame for male violence on religions that call for both males and females to suppress their genetically programmed sexuality, and for males to dominate females. These two factors, he adds, cause a buildup of unused sexual energy, particularly in males, that result in internal and external violence of one kind or another.
He sums up the results of this sexual repression by saying that “When males get hard on the bottom they get soft on top”—meaning they lose the ability to think logically, rationally and objectively, and become prone to commit violence.
The book also relates the failure of religious-based moralities and the emergence of global industrialization to the appearance of profit-making as humanity’s new morality.
This new morality, De Mente adds, is responsible for the present culture that among other things emphasizes violence in the entertainment industries, the display of semi-nude females in advertising, and the emergence of pornography as one of the world’s largest and most profitable industries.
The author says that the solutions he suggests for these cultural failures get down to the “nitty-gritty,” which is true but many readers are likely to be offended and shocked by them.
However, most readers will probably agree with his suggestions—which he notes are in fact slowly but surely becoming reality because many of them “make sense.”
The Origins of Human Violence, along with the author’s 60-plus other titles, is available from Amazon.com in both printed and e-book editions.

The Challenge of Saving Humanity from Itself!
WHY IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY AND VIOLENCE PLAGUE MANKIND! – The Failure of Rational Thinking and Common Sense!, by Boyé Lafayette De Mente. ISBN: 0914778-74-9. Quality trade paperback, 6x9, 130 pages, $12.95. Available from Amazon.com.
In this book author Boyé Lafayette De Mente, internationally known for his books on the cultures, business practices and languages of China, Japan, Korea and Mexico, takes a hard look at what he calls the irrationalities, stupidities and social insanity of human beings.
Among the things De Mente cites as evidence for the lack of rational thinking and behavior by mankind: “the misunderstanding and abuse of human sexuality, the rapid reversal of male-female roles, the commercial exploitation of female sexuality, the malicious use of god-based religions, and the absurd obsession with continuous economic and population growth.”
De Mente buttresses his arguments with discourses on such topics as The Id Monster in All of Us, The Creator-God & Sanctity of Life Myth, The Ongoing Religious Quagmire, The Male-Female Sexual Incongruity, Why Men & Women Talk Past Each Other, The Great Language Divide, The Tribal-Nation Divide, The Color and Racial Barriers, The Male Obsession with Accumulating and Destroying, The Sex Industry as a Sacred Cow, The Stupidity of the Continuous Growth Syndrome!, Why Women are Becoming More Like Men, and Ignoring the Wisdom of the Past.
“Despite the accumulation of vast amounts of wisdom based on practical experience over the millennia, large numbers of human beings—males in particularly—persist in behaving in ways that are destructive physically, emotionally and spiritually,” he says.
De Mente attributes the perversity of the male side of humanity to the ongoing influence of the primitive id, the powerful instinct to seek gratification of all desires, and the failure of cultures to help men [and women] deal with the build-up of sexual energy.
He offers specific solutions for all of what he calls “the plagues of mankind” in a clarion call for humanity to finally get its act together…a valuable and enlightening read for anyone interested in the future of the human race…not to mention planet Earth!

The Extraordinary Secrets of Samurai Training
SAMURAI PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES that Will Help Preteens & Teens in School, Sports, Social Activities & Choosing Careers, by Boyé Lafayette De Mente. Quality Trade paperback; 6x9; 84 pages. ISBN: 0-914778-99-4. $9.95. Available from Amazon.com.
Internationally known for his books on Japanese culture and a recognized authority on the way of the samurai, the author identifies the principles and practices that made up the educational and training process of samurai youths, and recommends that the positive elements of the process be incorporated into education systems around the world.
De Mente has identified the philosophical, physical and spiritual principles and practices that were the foundation of samurai education and training and converted them to guidelines and lessons for the youth of today.
The book covers all of the basics of the samurai training—setting goals, discipline, diligence, perseverance, respect for others and self-respect, personal appearance, keeping things in order, living frugally, using intuitive and emotional intelligence, and tapping into cosmic power.
Japan’s famous samurai warriors ruled the country from 1192 until 1868. De Mente notes that during the latter centuries of their reign their training went beyond martial arts to include such cultural pursuits as poetry, painting, calligraphy, history, philosophy and social behavior, making them one of the most remarkable groups of people the world has ever seen.
“The present-day systems of parenting and educating in the U.S. and elsewhere obviously fail to provide the physical, intellectual and emotional framework that youths need to even approach their full potential—and that now includes Japan,” he says.
“The introduction of American culture into Japan following the end of World War II in 1945 resulted in the end of samurai-type training of the young.
“The negative effects of this cultural shift were painfully conspicuous by the 1980s, prompting a growing number of Japanese to individually take up training in karate and kendo and the practice of meditation to reintroduce a sense of order and spiritual power into their lives.
“It was the spirit of the samurai,” De Mente continues, “that made it possible for tiny resource-poor Japan to become the world’s second largest economy in less than 30 years. Without that spirit, Japan will soon be just another kid on the block,” he added.
De Mente says that training in karate or kendo (“the way of the sword”), which are philosophical as well as physical, along with meditation are paths to learning the skills, morality and motivation that made the samurai so successful,.
He makes the obvious point that parents and teachers must take the lead in creating the environment necessary to build positive samurai-like qualities into the mindset and behavior of students, and that the book is designed to be a manual for parents and teachers who would like to help today’s young boys and girls be the best they can be.
The book should also especially appeal to the millions of students who are into Japanese-made manga (comics), video games, super secret agent ninjas, and samurai films, as it reveals the secrets of their powers.

Talk to the Wrong Side of the Brain and You're in Trouble!
WHICH SIDE OF YOUR BRAIN AM I TALKING TO? – The Advantages of Using Both Sides of Your Brain, by Boyé Lafayette De Mente. Phoenix Books/Publishers. ISBN: 0-914778-95-1, $9.95. Quality trade paperback, 6x9, 120 pages. Available from Amazon.com.
The human brain has a left side and a right side, and it is well-known that the two sides are programmed to perform different functions. There is also growing evidence that sexual gender, the language one first learns as a child, and the culture in which one is raised play primary roles in determining which side of the brain is engaged at particular times.
In this insightful and provocative book author Boyé Lafayette De Mente, internationally known for his 50-plus books on cultures, languages and business practices of China, Japan, Korea and Mexico, proposes that it is a unique brain factor that explains why people have difficulty communicating and understanding each other.
He proclaims that it is the primary language one learns as a child that determines whether people are left-brain oriented [think first in terms of logic and facts] or right-brain oriented [think first in terms of emotions and feelings]…and what is even more intriguing he says that all people on the planet except for the Japanese and Polynesians are programmed to be left-brain oriented.
De Mente says that it is the number of vowels in a language that controls the programming of the sides of the brains…with the vowel-heavy Japanese and Polynesian languages being unique. He adds that among the world’s other languages the so-called Romance languages [Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, etc.] are the only ones with a significant proportion of vowels…and their influence is noticeable in the emotional behavior of these people.
The premise of the book is based on work done by Dr. Tadanobu Tsunoda, Japan’s leading authority on which side of the brain processes what of sort of information. The author was one of Dr. Tsunoda’s lab subjects.
De Mente also notes that Americans and others must learn how to use the right sides of their brains more effectively if they are to achieve their full potential. [The book also explains what women must do to survive in a male-dominated world.]

Japan’s Famed Night-Time Entertainment Trades
MISTRESS-KEEPING IN JAPAN! – The Pitfalls & the Pleasures [Then & Now], by Boyé Lafayette De Mente. Phoenix Books/Publishers. ISBN: 0914778-72-3. Quality trade paperback, 134 pages, $12.95. Available from Amazon.com.
Mistress-keeping has had a long and “illustrious” history in Japan, with fascinating traditions and customs that were unique to Japanese culture.
The practice underwent dramatic changes following the end of the Shogunate era in 1867 and again following the end of World War II in 1945—when it was revitalized by thousands of American and United Nations military and civilian personnel who were part of the Occupation of Japan.
Author Boyé Lafayette De Mente, who was part of that extraordinary phenomenon, describes in detail the nature and role of mistress-keeping during the Shogunate era, in the aftermath of WWII, and how it continues today as part of Japan’s mizu shobai [mee-zoo show-by] or “water business,” providing valuable insights into the entertainment trades that play major roles in business and politics.
The story of mistress-keeping the Japanese way also reveals valuable insights into Japanese culture in general, helping to explain why they think and behave the way they do still today, and is therefore useful knowledge for businesspeople, educators and others with an interest in Japan.
